Versatile Côte d'Émeraude spot — works in all wind directions and at all tides, including southerly wind (rare on this coast). Large shallow bay, ideal for beginners and freeride/freestyle. Very busy in summer and on southerly wind.

Many rocks — ride in the centre of the bay. With offshore wind (south), fast drift toward Jersey: never ride alone. Summer overcrowding and self-teaching. Shorebreak at high tide on some beaches.
Launch depends on tide and wind direction (Tête de Chien, Pissote, Rougeret, Saint-Cieux, Briantais…). Bird reserve at the back of the bay for part of the year. Source: Emeraude Kite.

Riding prohibited at the back of the bay (ornithological nature reserve) from 1 November to 31 March.
Launch forbidden at high tide from Pissote and Manchette beaches. Prefer the back of the bay or Tête de Chien.
